This magazine aims to promote skateboarding in a positive light and fight the stereotypical opinion of skateboarding. Skateboarding is often perceived as a thuggish or childish activity and not a sport, the general public often have a negative outlook on the world of skateboarding and its participants. The Surroundings magazine aims to challenge the stereotype and highlight the positive attributes of skaters and the world of skateboarding.
